Last night i was in a game where 2 ppl had a royal flush…. was a split pot

  2. 074Jesse says:

    This table is boring!

    real table should be:

Chris Moneymaker, Jennifer Harman, Corey Zeidman, Phil Laak, Phil Gordon, Guy Laliberte, Howard Lederer, David Peat, Jamie Gold

  3. dantean says:

Hellmuth plays exactly like you would expect an ego-maniac would who thinks his cash game skills are considered a joke by the rest of the table, often trying to get cutesy to try to show that he can win with crap. He’s been the recipient of some lousy luck here too, which he lets destroy him, unlike w say, Esfandiari. In almost every HSP episode he’s in you see him doing stuff that’s simply bad poker b/c he knows the rest of the guys are thinking “Pfffftttt! Tournament legend!”

  4. HakoProductions says:

    Phil Helmuth = Jamie Gold

  5. joebullpanneri says:

Hellmuth plays great poker in tournaments against a lot of amateurs.
    Pros? Not so well.

  6. DrROFLcopter1 says:

As a big fan of daniel im pretty disappointed at his ‘dead in two spots’ comment which was ridiculous considering the hands in play. Even though he was only joking his comment may of had an effect on helmuths decision which may have cost antonio alot of money. I’m still in shock at helmuths flat call though… i mean considering how bad he’d been playing its pretty heroic not to go broke when he must be steaming from the ivey hand. Got to hand it to helmuth there but stick to tournaments dude!

  7. tibor74 says:

Most people should know not to play K rag suited because of situations like this.

  8. andylymbo says:

well you could call it the 4th nuts technically, since there can be only one straight flush it depends how you define it. 97ss or 74ss both are the respective nut/2nd nut hand. But depending on how you view it. As in since there’s only 1 7s obviously.

  9. MPETE1976 says:

I agree with Kaplan that there is too much table talk. I think Gus Hansen is just trying to have fun but if he had known what hands Hellmuth and Esfandiari held he would realize he was out of line. Hellmuth may have raised if he kept his mouth shut.

Andreas Høivolds attempted needle was awkward as well. Hellmuth did play the hand well. In fact I think Hellmuth have played well on all hands. The re-pop with AJ against Ivey was just an attempt to make a stand at the wrong time.

  10. MPETE1976 says:

The tables I play no one have 2K to offer

  11. purrelurre86 says:

@bestpkr100 he said “the same kinda had I had last hand” insinuating his QQ which hellmuth thought was a bluff

  12. ozabobododo says:

Hellmuth did extremely well not to go broke. 9 out of 10 people would have gone broke in that spot. As much as i was hoping to see him blow up, he didn’t because he knows he did well to lose the minimum.

  13. bestpkr100 says:

dudes, what did ivey say when daniel said ” he´s from nothern europe over here” ?????

  14. drbdrbrobertdrbdrb says:

Kara: unfortunately to run with 2nd nuts into the nuts! but there was a straight flush possible right?

  15. vplof says:

I wish i could play on a table where they offer me 2K just for showing my hand

  16. theiveslikeus says:

    there is nobody better, fact

  17. theiveslikeus says:

yeah that guy would be dead money on here

  18. theiveslikeus says:

this isnt a WSOP tourney or nor is it the local casino, this is merely a much bigger version of a local home game

  19. theiveslikeus says:

i agree, this is the dumbest comment, clearly this guy knows very little about poker

  20. 420Kasper420 says:

Daniel said that when the turn card fell, putting another spade on board. He and Gus were talking about Gus’ hypothetical 4s-3s, which, according to Daniel’s comment, would have been “dead in two spots” (drawing dead to both players).

Simply put, Daniel broke one of the simplest poker etiquette rules by suggesting that both Phil and Antonio had made flushes with the given turn card…DURING the hand.

It was an uncharacteristic flaw from Daniel, but inexcusable nonetheless.

  21. jclwhite says:

Its a good non raise by Hellmuth, credit where credits due, but before that he was all over the place. Whats with gettin AQ twice, not raising pre flop, then suddenly deciding Ivey’s bullying him? Its just poor play.

  22. DSREK7 says:

awesome start to the season…hellmuth getting run over

  23. IAmBallway says:

Gabe’s too hard on Hellmuth. I admit 4 betting AJ preflop was a ton of chips that he really didn’t have to lose, and that was a big mistake. But he made a hell of a read on Esfandiari to not lose his whole stack when he got stone cold coolered to the nut flush. He’s alright overall here, he just ran like total shit. However, if I were Phil I’d stick to tournaments, he is probably the best holdem tournament player alive, and only 2nd all time behind Stu Ungar

  24. cookiekoen says:

VERY VERY VERY impressive play from phil helmuth with K high flush

  25. lennoxvegas says:

I laughed pretty hard at that too!!
