Say what you like–Matusow is GREAT for the HSP show. He’s a goofis, they all know he’s a goofis, & they all say “I love Mike and I love to give Mike the business!” They all know he doesn’t mean anything by his antics, he’s never intentionally cruel to anybody after a really big loss, & he makes this fun. Episodes without him really r less entertaining when they degenerate into discussing their stupid proposition bets & the like. His mom even made an appearance once! How hilarious is that?
@GialloHorror Cash game pros who play these stakes every day consider Phil a one-trick pony: NL holdem TOURNAMENT legend. They literally laugh @ him & cant wait 4 him to bring $ 2 what they consider a REAL poker game. Tournaments involve specialized tournament-specific skills & have a capped buy-in of $10K at the upper limit & they think of Phil as a clown when he has to put up $100K+ & play a table of all excellent players, not the usual roundup of rodeo clowns hoping 2 b the next C Moneymaker.

I can fault Brandon. If Hellmuth started with him, I would understand, but Brian Brandon was trying to act cool and join in on needling Phil like the other players at the table who know him, have played with him for years and are friends with him, like Mike Matusow.

Are you retarded? First off, to qualify your statement..Phil Hellmuth is the greatest no limit holdem tournament player ever. However that does not translate to mixed games or cash tables. Second, Phil Hellmuth like him or not always acts like a complete pompous disrespectful crybaby ass at the tables. You cant fault Brandon or any other player for that matter who tries to needle Phil and then not back. Esp if it helps to get him off his game. This is high stakes poker, not make friends
