Lazy Poker at the Dunning Hotel Feb 2008 “Positively Blue”
14/05/2011Lazy Poker are ; Jamie Harper – Guitars and Vocals Grant McConnachie – Bass and Vocals Mel Ross – Drums, Percussion and Vocals Biography Lazy Poker came together in this current line-up in 2003, in time to play the Dundee Blues Bonanza, Europe’s largest free blues music festival. Our first album, The Real Deal, was released and we were excited to find radio airplay happening in Europe, USA and Australia. A deal for Blues Matters to distribute this album led to an agreement to record for their label. In 2005 we stepped into festival headline mode at The Orkney Blues Festival for the Friday night as the scheduled headline band had disintegrated in Glasgow en-route to the show! 2007 saw us play both the Edinburgh International Jazz and Blues Festival and the British stage at The Great British R&B Festival, Colne. Our first Blues Matters album was released in August 2007 and has been a top 10 blues album download success on iTunes. Discography The Real Deal album LP Records 2004 Gypsy’s Curse, All You’ve Got Is The Blues & Too Much Pork in My Stew got international and internet plays Positively Blue album BMRCD20071 Heartbreak Road and Positively Blue getting international and internet plays.
