New Online Poker Bill Would Legalize the Game

A new online poker bill has been introduced to the House. The proposed bill would not only legalize the playing of poker online, but it would also regulate the industry by giving powers to the US Department of Commerce. Individual states would also have some input since they could ban the game within their borders. WebProNews spoke with Eli Lehrer, the Vice President of The Heartland Institute, about the legislation, and he said that it was “common sense.” The bill, called the Internet Gambling Prohibition, Poker Consumer Protection, and Strengthening UIGEA Act of 2011, or HR 2366, has also received bipartisan support, which Lehrer believes is significant. Pokerstars Fulltilt World series of poker holdem The founders of the three largest online poker sites were indicted by the FBI on Friday in what could serve as a death blow to the thriving industry. Eleven executives at PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker were charged with bank fraud and money laundering in an indictment in a NY court. Prosecutors are seeking to immediately shut down the sites, eventually send the executives to jail and recover billion from the companies. Two of the executives were arrested on Friday morning in Utah and Nevada. Federal agents are searching for the others. The online gambling industry has taken off over the last decade, drawing an estimated 15 million Americans to bet online. In 2006 Congress passed a law prohibiting online gambling. Most of the leading sites found ways to work around the law using foreign banks, but prosecutors allege that in doing so they broke the law.

The video premiered on October 22, 2008. It is set by a pool, as well as in a mansion. It begins with Gaga emerging from the pool wearing a mirror masquerade mask and a black full-body leotard, with two Great Danes beside her (Lava and her son Rumpus). She throws the mask aside and the song begins with a facial shot of Gaga singing it. Gaga wears a metallic sticker on her left cheek in this shot. Featured in the video are scenes of Gaga in a mansion and dancing poolside with her dancers in a turquoise leotard. Gaga attends a wild party where every man and woman tries their luck on a strip poker game. The party gets wilder when all the party’s guests strip down to their underwear, dance around, and share kisses with each other. The video also features two harlequin Great Danes and several white mannequins on her swimming pool deck.
